Getting the health insurance for the families is a complex topic and it is very much easy to ignore the needs of the students and the children. To find an affordable health insurance plan that could be maintained in the budget is not an easy task, but if some proper guidance is provided then it could be possible.
About 10 years ago, Congress had launched a plan for the children of the state which was known as ‘Title XXI’ or SCHIP (‘the State Children’s Health Insurance Program’). This plan was for the children of the state which were growing at a fast pace in U.S and most of them were living without any health insurance plan. Unfortunately, there were many families who can’t afford the private health insurance plans for the families especially for children and also the cost of apply for the Medicaid was too high. Hence under this state plan, families who have low month income were charged only the 5% of their yearly income. Most of the time, the medical treatment to the children and family members is provided at free of cost.
The medical cover under this plan differs from state to state, but all the states are charging the minimum coverage amount which includes for the health of babies and children and also the immunization programs and emergency services which are required. Important thing is that if the child is already covered with some other plan, then he is not eligible for the medical coverage from the state.
